It really can be a fun experience to live on a boat, as long as you don’t mind a little isolation and you aren’t afraid of just a little bit of water! Some people might think that living on a boat would be a great idea, something they couldn’t experience in any other way but they don’t realize just how scary it can be trying to sleep on a boat that won’t stop rocking back and forth. And still others even find that living on a boat is just too isolating for them, even when traveling to neat destinations on the boat. On the other hand some people absolutely love the freedom and feel of living on the deep blues waters of the world.

Even families like living on a boat together even though the space isn’t quite a big as some would prefer. You’ll find that many things are different from traditional housing when it comes to living on a boat no matter how much of an adventure you are looking for. For example the dishes have to be cleaned as you go, there simply isn’t room on a counter or in a dishwasher. And many things you own will have to spend it’s time strapped in so it won’t fall, roll or break when bad weather comes around.

A bathroom you have been so used to won’t be nearly as roomy in a boat and might not even resemble anything more than a motor home bathroom would. Being pretty limited as it is for 2 people, you could imagine just how cozy things would be for a small family of 3 or 4. So if you plan to live on a boat with your family, it’s advised that you are close knit and enjoy spending a lot of time together. There are some great things about living on a boat such as the money you would save on power, water, heating and other expenses that usually come along with living in a traditional house.

You can also use satellite for television enjoyment and wireless Internet if that’s your thing so don’t feel you’ll be totally lost to the world just because you live on a boat. Having additional communication for traveling in the boat is something that’s probably more important that anything else when it comes to living on a boat as it helps to keep you safe. Finally, make sure all the water rules are known, understood and followed when out there on the sea, another thing that can help save lives.
